Algae can be the reason for the pool water being green and unclear.
Green water usually manifests after a period with too little disinfectant in the water, if the pH value has not been balanced, or if the filter capacity is insufficient.
Start by measuring the pH value of your pool with Test strips . The pool pH value must be between 7.0 and 7.4. The ideal value is 7.2. If the pH value is lower, adjust it up with pH-Plus and if the pH value is too high, adjust it down with pH-minus.
After this, you must give your pool water a shock treatment. You can do this with OxyChock, if yours is a chlorine-free pool, or with KlorStarter for a chlorine-based pool.
Finally add KlarPool, which prevents new deposits on the bottom and walls of the pool.
Now let the pool filter system run non-stop until the dead algae have been removed from the water. It is at times like this that a good filter system really shows its worth.
During the process, run a backwash on filter systems using filter glass or sand. If you are using FilterBalls in your filter, it may be necessary to rinse them after an algae attack. This can be done easily and efficiently in a bowl of water, for example. An alternative is to use a washing machine with cold water and the shortest possible cycle, and always without using any detergent or fabric softener.
Enjoy the water!
